I am excited to try this approach!

I had recently decided that I needed to eat "regular" food and just cut down on my portions, and this is a nicely structured approach to do this, complete with an acknowledgement of the emotional issues that WILL be part of the process. It's a "lean" book -- pun semi-intended -- but useful. I figured if I got anything useful out of it for the $5 price tag, it would be worth it.

The two phases totally make sense to me, and today is my Day 1. I feel really hopeful despite some natural anxiety about trying a new approach, but I already knew that something like this is what I wanted to do next, because I just can't do another "diet" that is eating differently than how I can maintain for a lifetime, and binging for months from the sense of restriction. I just can't do that anymore, and I know it does not and can not work for me.

It makes sense and it works. It's a little bit silly in parts, but the over all idea is truth.
I love this book. Just starting out, but it makes great sense. I want a hard copy of this book! Apparently there are none available. Why not?

This is a great insightful read. I felt like I was reading about myself. I am starting phase one today and will update in a few months. I have a question though.....where do drinks fit into phase one. Can you drink water all day...what about coffee, etc...??? Other than that, I am an older woman with kids ranging from 25-4. I wish I would have read this book a lot sooner. I am even sharing it with my oldest.
This book is so inspiring!! and it works! The ideas in it are great ---I feel so supported and the book is so helpful on a day to day basis...I lost 23 pounds so far. My eating habits have changed and I feel and look teriffic! I definitely recommend this book to anyone struggling to lose weight and also change your self image and negative thoughts.
Like McLaurie's other book, this one had lots of great ideas. It is well written and easily understandable. I like it because it is full of practical advice and not a lot of "Rah-rah! You can do it!!" sort of platitudes. McLaurie's approach is friendly and wise, without being casual. I think people will benefit from this book if they take the time to follow the author's instruction.
